Welcome (letter to parents)
Dear Parents:
Welcome back to school!
This new school year has new challenges as well
as excitements that come with rewards waiting for us. Academically, fourth
grade is the entrance to second phrase of learning and knowledge accumulation.
ISD provides all school supplies. In our class,
all students’ schoolwork/homework will be kept in binders at classroom for
reviewing purpose. I will review them with you at least twice a year at Parent
Teacher conferences or anytime you request. Then the binders will be sent home
after conference at every trimester.
ISD also provides each student a T-shirt and a
cap that are to be worn on field trips. Caps will be kept in the class.
I encourage you and your child to check our 4th
grade blog (sudmis.blogspot.com) at least once a week because there are many
listening and reading resources. You can also find useful reminders, classroom
activities and field trip pictures.
Your child should check out a library book every
Thursday. Please ask him/her to read it 10-15 minutes daily, and keep it in the
backpack every day since it will be one of the materials that we will use for
class activities. There is also approximately one hour of daily assigned
Chinese and Math homework except weekend.
Please make sure your child is wearing the
proper outfit and shoes for PE classes on Mondays and Fridays.
Our Chinese program will continue to use Positive
Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) from K3 through 5th grade in
2014-2015 school year. Every student will have many chances to earn Panda
prizes by demonstrating positive behaviors.
A monthly newsletter will be sent to you by
email. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me anytime at su.li@isdenver.org. I am looking forward to a great year working with you and all the
students! Thank you in advance for your support throughout this school year!!!
Sincerely
Su Li
4th grade teacher
